Dress up or dress down for the Pensacola Symphony Orchestra’s annual celebration of the music of Ludwig van Beethoven! Beethoven & Blue Jeans returns with the composer’s Overture to Leonore No. 3, one of four overtures that Beethoven wrote for his sole opera Leonore (later revised as Fidelio). Once described as “the most perfect drama in itself,” the overture is a potent musical embodiment of a noble passion. Classical guitarist Jason Vieaux joins the orchestra for Joaquín Rodrigo’s Concierto de Aranjuez, celebrated for its lush Spanish rhythms and color. The program also includes Bedřich Smetana’s The Moldau, Alberto Ginastera’s Dances from Estancia, and more.
