Dyon “Mojo” Brooks is an actor, writer, producer, and nationally acclaimed stand-up comedian who can currently be seen as the male lead in Tyler Perry’s MISS GOVERNOR on Netflix alongside Terri J Vaughn and Jo Marie Payton. The series spent multiple weeks in the Top 10 following its debut.
As a comedian, Brooks has built a strong national following, selling out every show on his 2024 “Unhand Me Now” tour, as well as each stop on his fourth national headlining tour, “The I Know You F*ckin’ Lying Tour.” That tour has sold more than 86,000 tickets and is set to conclude in January 2026 with performances at major venues including the Chicago Theatre, the Orpheum, and two shows at New York’s Town Hall.
From February through May 2026, Brooks will tour with Mike Epps on the “We Them Ones” arena tour, performing weekly for crowds of 10,000 or more. He will then launch another national theatre and arena tour as a headliner, playing larger venues than at any previous point in his career. He is also set to tour internationally across London and the EU in summer 2026.
In December 2025, Brooks taped his debut one-hour stand-up special in front of three sold-out crowds at Atlanta’s Center Stage Theatre. The special was directed by Mike Lavin, who has worked with Shane Gillis, Nate Bargatze, and Jim Gaffigan.
Brooks was named one of Variety’s 10 Comics to Watch for 2025 and was honored at Just For Laughs Montreal. The list includes alumni such as Kevin Hart, Amy Schumer, Patton Oswalt, Tiffany Haddish, and Kumail Nanjiani. He also appeared on Season 21 of Nick Cannon’s Wild ‘N Out, selected by Cannon after gaining attention for his viral sketch comedy content, which has amassed millions of views and over 28 million likes across platforms.
He has over 1.7 million Instagram followers, 2.3 million Facebook followers, and more than 1.5 million TikTok followers.
A Chicago native, Brooks frequently collaborates with the Chicago Bears and contributed to a Midwest Emmy-winning body of commercial and digital work. He has also appeared in music videos, including Lil Durk’s “Sad Songs.” Outside of entertainment, he supports youth development programs in Chicago and continues to invest time and resources in his community.
