COPLAND - Suite from Billy the Kid
ELLINGTON - Suite from The River
BEACH - Symphony in E Minor, “Gaelic”

What does it mean to have a uniquely American voice in a European art form? Join us as we explore the contributions of a diverse range of American composers with selections from Duke Ellington’s balletic The River, the adventurous themes of Aaron Copland’s Billy the Kid, and Amy Beach’s “Gaelic” Symphony, the first symphony written and published by a female American composer.

The Pensacola Symphony Orchestra continues to monitor current CDC guidance. At this time, patrons, regardless of vaccination status, will be expected to wear a face covering for the entirety of their time in the building. For a full list of the most up-to-date protocols, visit
